This is my favourite place on Earth. Unfortunately, the current owners of the resort/cantine and area are ruining the lake. If you come here, don't stay at their rental cabins as they don't get cleaned. Also, try not to use any of their services otherwise they might use the money to cut down more trees or put up more fences. These people truly do not understand what the lake means to anyone and are almost wilful in their ignorance. Avoid them at all costs and you may still enjoy the lake before they cut the rest of the trees down to make more room for their 'compound' full of trash.
3 days of great fishing! Great accommodations! Great beach area! Convenient access to utilities! Even boat/ATV rentals and a convenience store and restaurant! Book your spot EARLY!!
Rental cabins are nice and are modernized including a TV for your downtime but you have to bring your own bedding and toiletries. Stocking up on groceries and essentials is recommended before arriving as the food is bit pricey. Location is beautiful and the fishings usually pretty good
Had a great fishing weekend. Cabin were clean and warm. Had fishing shack on the ice for us. Good food and friendly, helpful owner. We will be back.
WOW!!! This place is amazing! The cabins are rustic, beautiful and so clean I could eat off the hardwood floors! The staff are super friendly, and extend every courtesy to their guests and beyond. One of my favourite aspects is their boat rental service for quiet fishing or the pontoon boat for a lake cruise with good friends. The food is really tasty and freshly made to order and reasonably priced. Lastly, there is a tangible feel of camaraderie like you're part of the Barrier Lake family that you just don't get anywhere else. This is perfect for families, couples, or groups of friends.....and is pet friendly. If you happen to have forgotten something, chances are the proprietors have anticipated that and carry it in their store. I will definitely be a returning guest year over year. You will not regret your choice to visit Barrier Lake Resort.
My first time here and I'm planning on going back and staying for a longer stay. The hosts are very nice prices are good, lake is beautiful for boating, fishing and swimming. The only downside to this area was the mosquitoes but it is a price one pays for a great vacation spot.
We have come to Barrier quite a few times and stayed in the duplex and have also stayed in the deluxe cabin, both of which have been great. Trina and Jason are very hospitable and accommodating. If theres something you need, just ask. We will definitely be back again!
The cabin was very clean and super well equipped. Sleeps five is a little misleading. It does sleep 5 but all in one room. The owners are very friendly and communicated easily to answer questions. The location is pretty. The view from our rental wasn't ideal but the stay was.
